Privacy policy & disclaimer
This page explains how we handle data for accounts, billing, and saved results, and provides legal information about the nature and limits of the outputs.

1) Summary
- InstantLCAi provides rapid, AI-assisted estimates and uncertainty ranges. Results are indicative and may be wrong.
- We store account and billing metadata (email, authentication data, plan, credits, Stripe IDs) to provide the service.
- Saved results: we store the prompt label and the final output in your Archive for up to 80 days (you can delete them sooner).
- Bulk uploads: files are processed in-memory to generate the downloadable output and are not stored by us.
- We do not run analytics or ad tracking and we do not sell data. This notice is written with Switzerland in mind (Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, “FADP/LPD”). If you are located in the EEA/UK, the GDPR may also apply.

3) Data we handle
Account & billing
- Email address and authentication data (password hash, sessions/cookies).
- Plan, credits, and usage counters.
- Billing metadata from Stripe (customer/subscription IDs, subscription status, current period dates). Payment details (e.g., card number) are handled and stored by Stripe.
Inputs & outputs
- Saved results (Archive): prompt label, unit, and output data (including distributions/statistics), kept for up to 80 days unless deleted sooner.
- Bulk upload files (CSV/XLS/XLSX) are processed in-memory to generate the downloadable workbook and are not stored by us.
Technical & security
- Like any web service, infrastructure providers may process connection metadata (e.g., IP address, user agent, timestamps) to deliver and secure the service (rate limits, abuse prevention, fraud detection).
Third-party content loaded by your browser
- TailwindCSS CDN, Feather Icons CDN, Chart.js CDN, Google Fonts, and Cloudflare Turnstile (captcha).
- When your browser loads these resources, the provider may receive technical data (e.g., IP address and user agent) according to their policies.
4) What we use your input for
- To provide the service (run simulations, generate results, produce downloadable files).
- To operate and secure the application (abuse prevention, reliability).
- We do not use your inputs or saved results for marketing, profiling, or ad targeting. We aim to minimize personal data and do not sell your data.
6) Retention
- Saved results (Archive): kept for up to 80 days and then deleted automatically. You can delete them sooner from the Archive page.
- Bulk uploads: uploaded files are processed in-memory to generate the downloadable workbook and are not stored by us.
- Account & billing metadata: kept as long as your account is active, and longer only where required for security, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or legal obligations.
- Email communications: retained as needed to respond and keep a record of requests.
7) Disclaimer (rapid estimate + uncertainty)
- InstantLCAi outputs are estimates generated from user inputs and AI. They are intended for exploration and decision support, not certification.
- Results do not replace a full LCA performed by qualified professionals or compliant with ISO 14040/14044/14067, critical review, or audited datasets.
- You are responsible for validating assumptions, units, system boundaries, data sources, and interpretation before using results externally.
- To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided “as is” without warranty, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service.

We may update this page as the product evolves (features, providers, or data handling). The “Last updated” date indicates when changes were made.
